Former delivery driver finds her place in the kitchen

I'm all about the yummy; yummy is my first priority," said Denise Hahn, owner of Sweet D'z Express. On any given day, her home smells of freshly baked muffins, cookies and cinnamin rolls. After a year and a half in culinary school and a year and a half of planning, Hahn, originally from Kansas, said her dreams are falling into place. She now operates her baking business out of her Bella Vista home.

"I was a Fedex driver for 11 years," she said. She raised her son and worked a good job, but the feeling of living on a hampster wheel led her to begin thinking of what she really wanted to do with her life. "Baking is my passion, it's what I was born to do," she said.

"When you're doing what you are supposed to be doing, everthing just falls into place. ...  My favorite is when someone eats one of my cookies or brownies and expect it to be ordinary. They take a bite and their eyes roll back in their heads," she said with a smile.
